當她沿著走廊步行過來，一邊深意地探看我們那些房舍的時候，我和她的眼光相接起來，頓然感應到她的需要，也知道我一定要幫助她。
I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly, so she wouldn't be afraid. As she stopped at my kennel I blocked her view from a little accident I had in the back of my cage. I didn't want her to know that I hadn't been walked today. Sometimes the overworked shelter keepers get too busy and I didn't want her to think poorly of them.
我搖動著的尾巴，含蓄地，不那麼用勁，她就不會害怕我了。當她停到我前面的時候，我用身體把一些因生理上的小意外而產生，遺留在房舍較後面的物事擋住。我實在不想她知道我今天還未被帶出去做那種日常必需的方便。有時候庇護場所裏一向已經工作繁重的人員會太過忙碌，而我真不願看到她會對他們產生一些負面的想法。
As she read my kennel card I hoped that she wouldn't feel sad about my past. I only have the future to look forward to and want to make a difference in someone's life.
當她查看掛在我房舍外的紀錄卡時，我祇希望她不會因為我過去所受到的慘悲遭遇而感到憂鬱和痛心。現在的我祇能寄望將來以及在一些人的生命裏做就一點改變吧。
She got down on her knees and made little kissy sounds at me. I shoved my shoulder and side of my head up against the bars to comfort her. Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate for companionship. A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my paw to assure her that all would be well.
跪下來之後她對我發出一種細細如親吻的聲音，我把我的肩膀和我的頭側起擠到鐵條之間給她一點舒緩和安慰。她溫軟的手指在我頸邊輕巧的摸捏輕撫時，我感到她需要伴侶的欲望是多麼的強烈啊。淚水終於由她腮邊流下來，我把前爪伸到她前面要她知道所有的事到最後都必定會好起來的。
Soon my kennel door opened and her smile was so bright that I instantly jumped into her arms.
過了一會，房舍的門打開，我跳到她的懷中，她的笑臉是多麼的燦爛。
I would promise to keep her safe.
I would promise to always be by her side.
I would promise to do everything I could to see that radiant smile and sparkle in her eyes.
我誓言確要永保她的安全。
我誓言確要永留她在身邊。
竭盡我的所能——
我誓言確要永見她那臉上的觀顏和她眼裏的光輝。
I was so fortunate that she came down my corridor. So many more are out there who haven't walked the corridors. So many more to be saved. At least I could save one.
她能來到我的走廊裏，我是多麼的幸運和有褔呢，因為還有很多的人在那裏，他們重來不曾走過這些走廊。需要拯救的人，數量是那麼的多！不過，我最少也能援助一個啊。
I rescued a human today.
