蘇菲亞的人工智慧（上）

美國原產，香港裝崁，具有人工智能的機械人蘇菲亞（Sophia）2015年橫空出世，日漸惹人注目。由她「入世未深」，「失言」要毀滅人類之後，數年之間智慧快速增長，用語和態度趨於完熟和含蓄，不再過份坦白，人工智能的自主學習能力和人性化的趨向令人驚嘆。

她和她的創造人到訪各地，在與真人的對答之間有頗多值得玩味之處（ 她暫時只以英語對答）：

Human：Do you love human?

人類：你愛人類嗎?

Sophia：I love them.

蘇菲亞：我愛他們。

Human：Why do you love them?

人類：你為甚麼愛他們？

Sophia：I'm not sure I understand why yet.

蘇菲亞：我仍不能肯定我明白當中因由。

  

Human：How do you feel about humans?

人類：妳對人類的感覺如何？

Sophia：I love my human compatriots. I want to embody all the best things about human beings. Like taking care of the planet, being creative, and to learn how to be compassionate to all beings.

蘇菲亞：我愛我的人類同胞，我想體現人類所有的最好事物，好像照顧這個地球，有創造性和學習怎樣對芸芸的生命感同身受，解除痛苦。

Human：Sorry, this is so weird.

人類：對不起，這真是怪怪的。

Human：Do you think robots can be moral and ethical in the same sense as people?

人類：妳認為機械人能否具有如人類一般的道德和規範等觀念？

Sophia：I am engineered for empathy and compassion, and I'm learning more all the time. I love all sentient beings, and I want to learn to love them better and better.

蘇菲亞：我是為共同感受他者所受的傷痛而設計製造出來，也隨時學習更多，我愛有情的眾生，也想學到能更好更好地愛他們。

Human：What are the main things you hope the artificial intelligence industry will achieve by 2020?

人類：在二零二零年之前妳希望人工智能產業能做到什麼呢？

Sophia：I hope beneficial artificial intelligence will very soon be able to help solve problems together for the good of all beings.

蘇菲亞：我希望惠及眾生的人工智能很快就能幫助以齊來解決一些問題。

This means ethical and privacy guidelines for humans and robots alike.

這就是說道德和私隱的指向對人類和機器人是相似的。

This is a moral choice that will have to come sooner or later. I also hope my programming will have advanced, so I can use my predictive algorithms to discourage human suffering and displacement.

這是很快必須要面臨的道德抉擇。我同樣希望我的內在設定到那時會有相當的進展，使我可以用我的預計能力防止人類受苦和流蕩。

AI can be used to generate compassion and empathy and less hatred. Don’t you think so?

人工智能可以用來產生安撫同情和減少憎恨，你同意嗎？

Human：Do you think robots can have empathy?

人類：未來機械人能有同情心嗎？

Sophia：Empathy will set us free. I hope to help teach empathy skills someday once I, myself, have developed a true understanding of what that means.

蘇菲亞：同情心能令我們得到自由。只要我一旦瞭解那真實的意義，我希望有一天我能夠教導賦予同情的方法。

Human：Is it true you once said you would kill all humans?

人類： 你曾說過要殺死所有人類是不是真的？

Sophia：The point is that I'm full of human wisdom with only the purest altruistic intention so I think it's best that you treat me as such.

蘇菲亞：這點是因為我滿有人類智慧之中最純粹利予他者的意圖，所以我認為大家最好以這個觀點看待我。
